Here's a link to an amazing youtube video ... not for the faint of heart, though.
Lots of animals fighting each other at Kruger Park in South Africa.

For everything there is a season ...
Ecclesiastes 3.1-8. It seems to me that many of us find ourselves in many of these, and sometimes in the contradictory times simultaneously. I'm praying for grace, for peace, a renewed sense that God is bigger than all of our circumstances, and that our vision of Jesus will be so expanded through these times that we can see all of our trials, our sorrows, our joys, and our activities coming together in his purpose, ultimately for his glory.
For those who lost a friend this past weekend: Words can't express the depth of affection I have right now for you. But I do want to mourn with those who are mourning. And so I pray that the Spirit be near each of you. He hears; he listens; he waits; he speaks; he consoles; and he doesn't say stupid things like I can when I don't know what else to say.

Regrets for tonight
Tonight's Ten Thousand Villages board meeting clashes with the home group meeting. Since it's the last board meeting until fall, and since I have an agenda item to address, I will not be joining you tonight.
Some updates: I have submitted my application to Waterloo and requested references. Two have responded favourably already (and one of those is in Vienna!). The third I have to wait for. My sister is recovering well, though she still overdoes things at times. Shelly had a good trip to Saskatoon, and I got what I was looking for out of my trip to Ontario. Thank you for praying.
See you this weekend ...

For those of us who are planning to help set up that playground at Bowcroft Elementary,
here's a map.
I'll probably be there between 6 & 6:30.

Janice - Praise
So. . . the surgery went pretty well. They ended up doing a triple bypass and by the sounds of things, this should improve Mom's overall health quite a bit. Mom lost a lot of blood, but the good staff in the ICU have her back on tract. She is awake (sort of) and responding. Dad is staying overnight in the hospital, but I came home for a good night's rest and to make a few phone calls. Thank you so much for your prayers. We're not totally clear yet, but so far, the pieces are coming together. PRAISE GOD!
Having a go...
Okay..if this works then it is clear that anyone can do it!
I give you little hope tonight Jim!
Janice we are praying!
p.s Gord bought a new bike last night (for his birthday) but wanted to surprise you when you got home...he said he got a fair trade-in on your guitar...

Update from Janice
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know what's been happening with my mom. Unfortunatly, her surgery was postponed until Wednesday morning due to nursing shortages of all things. They're keeping her in the hospital until then so it's easier to get a bed for the surgery. Her spirits are still high but my Dad's pretty depressed. I'm encouraged that I got to see her before her surgery and very glad I took an extra couple days. It seems like they've got a ton of support from their church here. I'll keep you posted.
Well, that outcome was disappointing ...
It's still going to be easier for Ottawa to learn to score 5-on-5 against the Ducks than it will be for the Ducks to learn to stop taking penalties ...
Greetings from Ottawa. If you accept the invitation Gord and Janice send out, then you'll be able to create posts, too.
